Mmmm Matcha!

Today I will be sharing with you my review on the Matcha powder. If you interested to know more about Matcha then keep on reading.

Matcha tea is unique because with any other tea, the leaves are steeped and some of the nutrients are drawn out, but the remaining good stuff is thrown out when you dispose of the leaves. The meaning of the word ‘matcha’ is literally ‘powdered tea’, because the rich, green leaves are ground to a fine powder and dissolved into each little cuppa. So, when you drink a cup of Matcha tea, you are getting every bit of good stuff you can. Not a smidgen is wasted!

Few Point’s On Why Matcha Is Beneficial To Us

• It’s 10 times more effective than your normal cup of green tea

• It has an greater amount of antioxidants than of orange juice.

• It has much better carotene than of spinach

• It helps boost metabolism and help burns calories

• Rich in fiber

I did not have the recommended tools to make the “perfect” cup of matcha but nevertheless here is how I made mine.

Step 1: Use the end of the teaspoon handle acting as a “spoon”to pick up product.

Step 2: pour in warm water and not boiling water.

Step 3: Lastly, whisk or shall I say stir, stir, stir until it turns frothy and creamy.

Tip (personal perefence) : Add some honey for sweetness.

My Review

Housed in a tin can with the companies branded logo. The actual product is very fine in texture, powdery and dark green in colour. It has a strong aroma.

The tea is rich in texture and very creamy. When I tried matcha tea for the very first time, It was not quite something that I liked. It was very new to me and I acquired the taste It has a astringent, vegetal taste to it. Its not bad, but not the best for me in my opinion. It is rich in taste ( sweet and savoury) while leaving no aftertaste.

This superior Matcha powdered tea retails for R390 (40g)

Tip : Matcha powder can be used for in various ways ; Cereal bowls, smoothies, face masks, facial wash and much more! Now, You can enjoy Matcha whether served hot or cold / concentrated or diluted.

Keep in mind: Its about personal preference. What I like, taste and smell isn’t what you going to like taste and smell and what you taste and like isn’t necessarily what I’m going to like vice versa..
